One of the peculiar things about the Lighthouse Point is how the name of the city actually came about.  It’s named after the historic Hillsboro Inlet Lighthouse landmark but this landmark doesn’t actually reside in Lighthouse Point, it’s located instead in the nearby upscale neighborhood of Hillsboro Beach.  Lighthouse Point does however share similarities with Hillsboro Beach, particularly its reputation as an affluent neighborhood comprised mostly of people in top earning positions.  In spite of this, Lighthouse Point maintains a great appeal among families.

You’ll find Lighthouse Point homes and Lighthouse Point condos in nearly equal amounts.  The former usually tend to belong to a gated community of some kind and are available with locations close to parks or right next to the waterfront.  Regardless of whether you ultimately decide on a single family home or condominium, you’ll always remain near neighboring cities like contemporary Fort Lauderdale, Pompano Beach and more.
